At Fort McMurray Catholic Schools, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, that vision has become a reality in new and meaningful ways. 

During the 2024/2025 school year, our division received a $20,000 Jumpstart grant, which allowed us to purchase six accessibility wheelchairs through Adapt Mobility. These wheelchairs have already begun transforming physical education experiences. This opens doors for students of all abilities to play, learn, and connect together. 

Building on this success, we are grateful to again receive support for the 2025/2026 school year, with an additional $16,301 grant. With this funding, six more wheelchairs have been ordered and will soon arrive, expanding opportunities for even more students across our schools. 

This initiative goes beyond equipment. In partnership with Wheelchair Sports Alberta, students experience hands-on learning through wheelchair sports programming, guided by trained instructors. These opportunities foster empathy, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of inclusion - values that are at the heart of our school communities.

With new equipment and upcoming continued programming, we are excited to continue building spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and included.
